Time management for IBPS bank examinations

Time management is very important to face any competitive examination. We all know that there are 120 minutes and 200 questions in IBPS bank examination for clerk and PO. It very difficult to attempt all the questions in 120 minutes. But if you plan some strategy, it is possible to clear IBPS with good score. We are aware that 200 questions and five section like Reasoning, Arithmetic, English, General Awareness(About Banking) and Computer Knowledge are for IBPS examination. If you think about the 120 minutes, we are getting only 24 minutes to each sections. There are 7200 second in 120 minutes. We have to attempts 200 questions in 7200 seconds means we are getting 36 second to solve one question.
This time is not enough, we have to think about all five sections. Reasoning and Arithmetic are two most important and time consuming sections. In this we have to deal with lots of calculations and manipulations. Rest sections are not time consuming, it takes time which is required to read this question and in some questions we can answer it by partially reading it, question such as DOS stands for? so we have to focus on Reasoning and Arithmetic sections carefully.
If we think from time management perspective each section is getting 24 minutes to attempt 40 questions so Reasoning and Arithmetic are getting 48 minutes to attempt 80 questions, and rest three sections are getting 72 minutes to attempt 120 questions. Instead of doing so, utilize 72 minutes to attempt Reasoning and Arithmetic and 48 minutes to attempt rest all three sections. As section wise proportion is 2:3 and in time-wise make it as 3:2.
In another way I am going to explain it in tabular format as below.

No of Questions
Time in minutes
Reasoning
40
72
Arithmetic
40
General Awareness
40
48

Computer Knowledge

If you are not confident about timing strategy, try to apply this new practical approach. Take your time and try to solve only 30 questions from each sections. Assume 5 answers will be wrong out of 30 question and this will deduct your 1.25 marks from 25 marks, Even though you can score 23.75 marks in each section.

I think this is enough score to get selected for an interview by any of the bank. So best of luck for your examinations………………
